This comes with a heavy heart.

The dash has not really moved in a couple days minus one or two posts and I’ve seen it dwindling down to nothing. I really did have hope that things would somehow find a spark back to life but it’s gotten hard to motivate myself. Despite the best of intentions and a bunch of ideas, I’ve finally decided it’s for the best to finally let things go. I don’t want to be long-winded here and I’ll keep it as short and simple as I can.  I just want to thank each and every one of you for the time you put into this community and making it what it was. I have enjoyed the friendships, plots and characters that came out of it.

Everyone else as far as I know has let me know about a hiatus or has shown some activity. I will be updating the mod account to reflect these as soon as I get a chance.

Unfortunately, the person who made those is no longer with us and I’m not that great at it myself. I’d love if there someone in the comm who is good at making videos stepped up and made some. 

I will be adding a bunch of new characters in the next week or so. No worries.

Hiatuses are at an all time high and I know that a few of us have been struggling lately to deal with the lack of activity on the dash. It makes my position as mod extremely difficult as occasionally there are moments when it reaches a complete lull or the times comes when some members decide to move on. I will admit that at times it’s been hard to find balance in being a moderator and actively building my own character. For that, I apologize.

As long as there is still interest in continuing, I promise to do my best to keep it going and get fresh blood into the community. I personally am very attached to my character and would hate to say goodbye at this point. I know some of you feel the same way. We have well exceeded the average life of a roleplay community (despite a lot) and for the I am proud. I think you should all be proud of what we have accomplished. It is extremely hard to lose writers/characters that have been a part of the community for a long time but there comes a point when you must start the next chapter.

The only way to do that is by finding out who is ready to let go and who is ready to stick around. I am giving everyone (who hasn’t directly contacted me recently about a hiatus) one week from tonight to contact the mod account to let me know if you’re still interested in actively being a part of the community or if you wish to give up your role and move on. I will figure out the best way to move forward based on that.

For those of you who are willing to stick around, thank you. I will do everything in my power to rebuild the community in some fashion. For those of you who will inevitably go your own way, thank you for the time you spent as part of our family. Thank you for everything.

Mod Post!

• Reminder: Spring Break will be from March 26-April 9th.
• All members are expected to maintain activity by posting at least once per week. We try to be lenient and work with people who come to us explaining why they are going to be away. Those who abuse our generosity will be noticed and their roles may be placed back up for grabs if it continues to be a problem though. We love all of our members but a game is only successful if members are active. We’re trying be fair for all. If you’ve come to one of the mods (myself or KP) explaining why you were away or there has been a lull in your activity you have nothing to worry about. :)
• I’ve been brainstorming ideas on how to upstart some new activity. One idea is that once a month people who volunteer would have their characters put into a random drawing to be assigned to write with another random volunteer. Obviously, it wouldn’t have to be anything plot heavy but Degrassi is not a huge school so random run-ins, working on projects together, etc would happen. :) I know that some people are afraid to put themselves out there so this might prove to be a bit of an icebreaker to make more friends within the game. I would literally draw names out of a hat. If we wanted to add an aspect to it, random objects or locations could be added into the mix to make it even more fun.
• The next couple of months will include spring break, the spring play, prom for juniors/seniors (and their dates or any underclassmen who volunteer to work at it) and graduation. Once graduation happens we will open up the next set of kids who would be below our current grade 9’s. If you happen to have a relative of your character that you’d like to make sure gets added into that group, please let me know. Example: Caleb Martin will be a playable character once graduation occurs with a fc of Cameron Monaghan. I already have a couple fc’s in mind for these group and I’m actually really excited for them. Writers of current seniors can continue on with writing them as they see fit as Degrassi did continue to feature alumni many times. :)
• I will be heavily editing the mod account over the course of the next two days. Please be patient while these changes occur, I’m trying to make it more organized and appealing. It was time for a little spring cleaning! I do hope to get up a faculty sheet eventually.
